The making

From sketch to stitch

Every piece begins as a drawing and ends as an heirloom, passing through the hands of women-run makers along the way.

  1. Drawn

    Select prints begin as hand drawings by Shelby of Feral Flower, a solo woman artist.

  2. Designed

    In the studio, every cut, ruffle, pocket and colour is shaped by hand, then considered three times over.

  3. Printed

    Each print is laid onto linen-cotton, chosen for the way it softens with every wash and every year.

  4. Sewn

    Every piece is cut and sewn at Hocking Hills Garment Center, a woman-owned sewing school in Appalachia, the last stitch placed in a restored church in the Ohio hills.

Every piece from the Homestead collection sets the next chapter in motion: Pal Bear, a line of matching pyjamas for the whole family.

Hand-drawn by Shelby of Feral Flower and designed in the studio with the same care, they're made for slow Christmas mornings, matching photos by the tree and the bedtime stories that follow.
